From 30th December 2005, individuals offering adoption support services must be registered as an Adoption Support Agency (ASA).

This Directory http://www.postadoptioncentre.org.uk/directory.php

is divided into three sections:  those individuals who have registered as ASAs and provide adoption support; those who are in the process of registering and provide adoption support; and those who have completed PAC professional training.

Those who are registered will hold a Certificate of Registration from CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection) which you are entitled to view; those who are in the process of Registration will have a letter from CSCI indicating that CSCI has received the application for registration with them, which you are entitled to view. Although these individuals, or groups of individuals, may not have the Certificate of Registration as yet, the letter shows that they have applied for and are awaiting inspection by CSCI and therefore are working within the guidelines of the new legislation and can provide adoption support services.
